Beyonce & Eminem Artists Of DecadeWeekly Music News: Lil Wayne's Rebirth has been playing hide-and-go-seek for some time now. The album that originally had a release date set for April then for today, December 15, has been pushed back yet again for release in February 2010 - just in time for when the rapper turns himself in to serve his 1 year jail sentence. Talk about great marketing. Chris Brown deletes his Twitter account, Eminem is Artist of the Decade, and Leona Lewis's Golden Globe nod rounds out this week's music news.

Chris Brown deletes Twitter account

Over the weekend, Chris Brown went on a tirade via his Twitter page about the slow sales of his newest project Graffiti. According to the "Crawl" singer, the music industry is blackballing him and halting his future success because of his much publicized altercation with ex-girlfriend Rihanna. Chris claimed that music retailers like Best Buy and Wal-Mart are refusing to stock their shelves with his album and said that he saw it with his own two eyes. Chris's fans also concurred with Chris also claiming that music retailers are denying his album a spot on their shelves. Surely, when Chris first made the allegations he did not expect for major news outlets like Billboard.com to read the tweets and publish stories regarding his random thoughts. It seems that Chris's PR team grabbed a hold of his career and decided to give his Twitter account the ax. That's right kids; the Mechanical Dummy is no more. Is there a Graffiti conspiracy happening here or is Chris just a little bitter? Time will tell.

Beyonce is the female Artist of the Decade

Beyonce has been dubbed the honorable title of top female Artist of the Decade by Billboard. The list, that was compiled this past weekend, ranked Beyonce as number 4 making her the first female to appear on the list. Yes, it's technical but in this business every little bit matters. Following close behind is Alicia Keys at number 5. The list credits Beyonce's smash hits "Crazy in Love", "Single Ladies", and "Irreplaceable" for her position on the list. Beyonce also came in at number 9 via her group Destiny's Child.

Eminem is Artist of the Decade

And the male Artist of the Decade went to none other than the word-smith scholar himself, Eminem. It is no doubt that for the past decade both Hip-Hop and R&B have been the go to genres for many music fans and the fans undoubtedly flocked to Eminem in the 2000's. Thanks to his controversy and his timeless singles, Eminem came in at the coveted number one position on Billboards Artist of the Decade list. Many have said that he took way too many breaks to be considered as Artist of the Decade but it is hard to turn a blind eye to the fact that when he did release an album he was able to dominate the charts each and every time. It is, however, interesting that now Eminem's biggest competition is not a Hip-Hop artist in the least bit but one that he probably would least expect. Susan Boyle is well on her way to being Artist of the Decade in 2010, just you wait.

Leona Lewis nominated for Golden Globe

Leona Lewis has had quite a year. The X-Factor winner has went through everything from experiencing the highs of success to getting socked on the head by a crazed fan. Well now Leona can add another notch on her success belt as she has been nominated for a Golden Globe for her song "I See You". Leona Lewis's sophomore effort Echo did not perform well in sales but at least she has something else to celebrate as 2009 comes to a close.
