Adam Lambert Angers TV Viewers, Lady Gaga Before 'The Fame,' More
Weekly Music News: The 2009 American Music Awards ended up being better than expected. Between the falls, dirty dancing, and spectacular performances Sunday was the best day of the week. Here's wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving and for the shopaholics a Happy Black Friday. Adam angers TV viewers, Beyonce's new album, and Janet Jackson's new music video round's out this week's music news.Adam Lambert's AMA performance draws in 1,500 complaints
Without a doubt, this year's American Music Awards was must see TV as well as too hot for TV. One of the performances that deserved an XXX rating was a performance from "American Idol" winner Adam Lambert. The singer performed his song "For Your Entertainment" in true S&M fashion equipped with up close and personal crotch thrusts and same sex lip-lock. As you know, this all took place on America's "family channel." As a result, ABC said more than 1,500 people complained about the performance expressing outrage over how much graphic content was present on an award show that was also viewed by children. We all can agree that Adam's performance definitely pushed the envelope but is it safe to say that these same children are exposed to far more at school?
Beyonce announces new album plans
Beyonce has been referred to by her peers as the"hardest working woman in show business," a title the singer is looking to keep. At a recent concert in the UK and Beyonce's last show on her tour, the singer announced plans to release a new album in 2010. That's right; Beyonce will be back on tour next year with yet another album tucked under her belt. This will go against husband Jay-Z's plans to welcome a bouncing baby into the world which probably means he will be saying greeting 40 before he sees Beyonce with child.
Lady Gaga before 'The Fame' part deux
Lady Gaga has made a name for herself by being outlandish and quirky with her style, her music, and her personality. Just a few months ago, MTV released a video from their vault of Lady Gaga on their hidden camera prank show "Boiling Point" where the singer looked like the complete opposite of what we see today. Well, here is another video of Lady Gaga as herself, Stefani Germanotta, performing at NYU. Boy, have we changed.
Jennifer Lopez says she meant to fall
The net has been buzzing about Jennifer's American Music Awards fall. On a night that she was set to make a comeback, she ends up falling on her popular bum in front of a live studio audience and millions of viewers watching from home. She must get credit for her excellent recovery because viewers who blinked for a moment missed her fall and probably would not have known it existed had it not been for good ol' Internet. In an interview with Ryan Seacrest, Jennifer joked that she meant to hit the floor the way she did saying the fall is not important, what is important is how the fall was handled.
"I meant to do that. What are you talking about? Don't you know me better than that? It was part of the choreography! The measure of things is, it's not what happens when you fall, its how you handle it when you fall."
