Bon JoviBon Jovi is currently on a world tour but weren’t planning to play any dates in Spain, which is undergoing a major financial crisis.

But Jon and his band decided to waive their performance fee for a concert in Madrid as a gesture of support to their Spanish fans hit hard by the country’s severe economic upheaval.

Tickets for the band’s Thursday night show cost around $23, roughly half normal price for concerts there.  That money goes towards the venue and other fees and costs associated with the show but the band essentially played for free, waiving any performance fee which drove down the ticket prices.

The legendary rockers apparently planned on skipping a Spanish tour date, fearing poor sales from cash-strapped fans.

But Jon told a Madrid newspaper, “I didn’t want to let fans down.”

Now THAT is how you show your appreciation to your fans.  Well done Bon Jovi!
