RumorFix has learned that Survivor: Philippines star Lisa Whelchel has West Nile virus.

“Dr. just called with the blood test results … I have West Nile. Ugh. I’m fine, just tired. Takes a year to recover,” she revealed to her Twitter followers on Tuesday.

The former the Facts of Life star who recently split for her husband of 24 years, thanked fans for their support, tweeting:

“I’ve been very touched by all the sweet tweets. Other than tired, I’m feeling fine and expecting a full recovery. So grateful for you. Thanks!”

West Nile is a disease spread by mosquitos. Symptoms include abdominal pain, diarrhea, fever, headache, lack of appetite, sore throat, muscle aches and nausea.
