The word’s just in! We’ve just got confirmation that Jimmy Kimmel will be hosting the Emmy Awards this year!

The late-night comedian’s reps have just confirmed that the star will be hosting the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards scheduled to air on September 23rd by ABC.

While this esteemed gig will be the first time he will be hosting the Emmys, awards shows are nothing none too familiar to Kimmel as he has previously hosted the American Music Awards and the Espys. He is also set to host the White House Correspondents Dinner later in April.

‘Glee’ star Jane Lynch hosted last year and fellow late-night comic, Jimmy Fallon, the year before.
