'Survivor 2013: Blood vs. Water' - Honesty Is Such A Lonely Word

October 31st, 2013 1:43pm EDT
Survivor 2013: Blood vs. Water
Previously on Survivor.  The returning players were sweeping the challenges, until a tribal switch occurred. The shakeup left Vytas on Galang in an all-female tribe, and Ciera on Tadhana as the only female. Tina and Laura B.’s misunderstanding of the challenge rules led to a defeat for Galang, but it was Kat who was voted off the tribe at Tribal Council, when she turned on alliance member Monica instead of Vytas.

At Redemption Island, Kat woke up John and Laura M., and whined about being ousted. She had something bad to say about each of her tribe, and worried that boyfriend Hayden would d...

Previously on … Survivor.  Tadhana’s newbie tribe finally won a challenge, which meant Galang had to vote out one of their own returning players. Aras and Tyson manipulated the others into sending Laura M. off to battle against Brad at Redemption Island. After all, she might beat Brad, sending him home, and leaving Monica with only her own tribe to cling to.

After Tribal Council, Laura B. breathed a sigh of relief that she hadn’t been voted out. Aras worried that he might have been seen as the ring leader in ousting Laura M., since leaders are always a target. Sure enough, Tyson warns Gerv...

'Survivor 2013: Blood Vs. Water' - A Tale Of Two Lauras

October 17th, 2013 2:15pm EDT
Survivor 2013: Blood vs. Water
Previously on … Survivor.  The returning players had the game in control, despite the decimation of their loved ones on the competing team. Brad Culpepper thought he had the Tadhana tribe in his pocket, but overplayed his hand, and found himself blindsided at the last Tribal Council. A shocking move by Caleb, Colton’s fiancé, found Brad exiled to Redemption Island, to compete in a ‘thruel’ (duel for three) against John and Candice.

Brad told John and Candice that it’s just business, and that his actions were not personal. His only alliance is to Monica, his wife.

This week, Tadhana’s Hayd...

Survivor: Blood vs. Water
Previously on … Survivor.  On Redemption Island (RI), Marissa and Rachel held Brad Culpepper responsible for their team’s continuing losses. Unable to stand being ignored, Colton burst into tears and quit the game for the second time, leaving in disgrace. John was blindsided, and sent to RI, where he was reunited with wife Candice.

This week, we begin with the Tadhana tribe, who are gloating over John’s shocking blindside. Brad boasts that he had John under his thumb from the beginning, and interviews that he’s got the game under his complete control. His long term plan is to reunite coupl...

'Survivor 2013: Blood vs. Water' - Colton Sent Back Home To The Comfy Couch

October 3rd, 2013 3:31pm EDT
Survivor 2013: Blood vs. Water
Previously on … Survivor. Rupert lost the Redemption Island duel to Candice and Marissa. Candice gave husband John a clue to the Hidden Immunity Idol. Colton tried to stir up trouble amongst the returning players. But the Tadhana team lost at the Immunity Challenge, and Rachel was voted out, in hopes that Tyson, her boyfriend, would sacrifice himself for her.

This week, Colton continues to whine that no one wants to strategize with him, by which he means, stir up trouble amongst his Galang tribe mates. Since his entire team is made up of returning players, his attempts to goad the others i...

'Survivor: Blood vs. Water' - Tell Laura I Love Her

September 26th, 2013 11:29am EDT
Survivor 2013: Blood vs. Water
Last week on … Survivor. Once more into the breach. And of course, it’s all about Rupert. You remember Rupert. We all do. He’s the good guy that can never catch a break, and sure enough, when he came on to play for the umpteenth time, this time with his wife, his wife was kicked out of the game before anyone could blink. But Rupert threw himself under that bus, to take wife Laura’s punishment, and to be her surrogate on Redemption Island.

On the newbies Galang beach, Brad Culpepper (Culpepper to Jeff Probst) began as he meant to go on, by organizing an alliance of males against females. At...

'Survivor 2013: Blood vs. Water': The Return Of Redemption Island

September 20th, 2013 6:30am EDT
Survivor: Blood vs. Water
And so it begins. At first glance, I’m not at all happy with this season’s premise, but we’ll have to see how it plays out. This could either be fun, or a complete train wreck. Welcome to the 27th season of … Survivor.

We’ll be treated to returning players, along with newbies, and everyone’s significant others. And we’ve been promised a lot of twists. Twists can be good; I’ll keep an open mind.

But the thing that I’m not happy with, right off the top, is that the players will NOT be playing with their loved ones; rather, they will be competing against them. Returning players will be on th...
