Have you ever heard a song on the radio and thought "Well, these guys won't be around for long?" We've all been there (most of us thought that when we heard Justin Bieber's "Baby"), but this list is for those of us who heard a song or saw a music video and said, "Wow, now these guys/girls have something special."
To kick off our list, we will start with one of the best bands of the eighties. Def Leppard headed up the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal and steamrolled the United States with their first hit song here, "Bringin' On The Heartbreak". To followup their albums "On Through The Night" and "High 'N Dry", they came out with "Pyromania" in 1983. That album spawned hits like "Photograph", "Rock Of Ages" and "Foolin'". Certainly the entire album is worth a listen (or five), but they outdid themselves with their 1987 followup, "Hysteria".
"Hysteria" pushed an entire album out of hit after hit. "Love Bites" is their most successful ballad, while "Pour Some Sugar On Me", "Armaggedon It", "Rocket", "Animal", "Women" and the title track were getting regular play on MTV. After "Pyromania" and "Hysteria" received RIAA Diamond Certification, the band went on to release "Adrenalize", "Retroactive", "Slang", "Euphoria", "X", "Songs From The Sparkle Lounge" and "Yeah!"
What's your favorite Def Leppard song?
