Avril Lavigne has been known as both a rock star as well as a pop princess. We take a look at her interesting life and career in celebration of the 10th anniversary of her debut album’s release.
When Avril Lavigne first debuted into the music scene with her first album Let Go in 2002, she was the 17 year-old rebel-slash-punk who sang rock songs and hung out with skater dudes. She had long brown hair, wore little make-up, and dressed herself in T-shirts and jeans. People thought of her as a tomboy, and that soon became her public image. Her fans looked up to her as they felt she was looked “cooler”, and she was just being herself, which was what people were looking for.
