Members of the Nerdfighteria are well aware that John Green's touching The Fault In Our Stars is in the midst of being adapted for the big screen, and have been eagerly awaiting a first glance at what their beloved story will look like. Well, no need to wait any longer - because the exclusive TFIOS trailer is here - and be prepared to bust out the tissues because it's a tearjerker. Check it out below:

The Fault In Our Stars is the touching story of a terminally ill cancer patient, who finds complete and unrequited love in a kindred soul who has suffered as she is. It's a bittersweet romance, as Hazel (Shailene Woodley) describes herself as a ticking time bomb who will only bring everyone around her down as her condition worsens. Gus (Ansel Elgort) however, doesn't intend to let a silly little thing like cancer get in the way of true love. The press release really sums it up the best:

"Hazel and Gus are two extraordinary teenagers who share an acerbic wit, a disdain for the conventional, and a love that sweeps them -- and us – on an unforgettable journey.  Their relationship is all the more miraculous,  given that they met and fell in love at a cancer support group. THE FAULT IN OUR STARS, based upon the number-one bestselling novel by John Green, explores the funny, thrilling and tragic business of being alive and in love."

For those of you unfamiliar with John Green and Nerdfighters in general, he's kind of a big deal. A historian, writer, philanthropist, economist and ecologist all wrapped into one wonderful package. He, and his equally smart brother, Hank, have made a name for themselves on Youtube, as they answer questions from their viewers. They also host a series called "Crash Course" which currently covers History and Chemistry, but they work with partners who help to explain how health insurance works, among other things.
