After announcing her split from husband Mike Comrie, Hilary Duff turned to Twitter to thank her fans for their support and well wishes.
On Friday, the star revealed she and the former ice hockey player had broken up after more than three years of marriage. Duff's representative said in a statement that the pair would remain close for the sake of its son Luca, who turns two in March.
Duff, 26, showed the break-up really was amicable after writing on Twitter, "Mike and I are sitting here,we are so appreciative for all of your kindness& well wishes. Not an easy day but we're getting thru it together."
Duff and Comrie allegedly drifted apart, despite attempting to salvage their relationship by attending couple's therapy, according to a report on Eonline.com.
The pair dated for three years and tied the knot in August, 2010.
Duff starred in the Disney series "Lizzie McGuire" as well as the films "Cheaper By The Dozen," "A Cinderella Story" and "Raise Your Voice." She has also released a couple of albums.
