On Thursday, director Michael Bay was attacked on the set of his latest "Transformers" movie in Hong Kong.

The filmmaker was approached by two brothers who demanded $12,900 and then assaulted him - causing injuries to the right side of Bay's face.

Bay had refused to give the men the cash, and they in turn attacked three police officers who intervened. It is not clear why the brothers wanted the money.

The director refused medical treatment, but the officers were sent to the hospital with minor injuries.

The attackers were arrested on suspician of blackmail and assault.

"Transformers: Age of Extinction," starring Mark Wahlberg, centers on a group of powerful businessman and scientists who attempt to push the boundaries of technology beyond what they can control. The film is set for release next summer.
