Jennifer Lopez's new television series is a hit. Her family drama about a lesbian couple raising a family of foster kids has gotten a second season pick up by ABC Family.
The second half of the first season of "The Fosters" will return next year, and it appears it has already done enough to impress network executives and viewers.
Lopez executive produces the show, which stars Teri Polo and Sherri Saum as gay parents of the multi-ethnic family of both foster and biological kids.
Earlier this month, the singer/actress was honored at the 17th annual Human Rights Campaign national dinner. She was recognized for her support for marriage equality, HIV/AIDS research, anti-bullying and youth anti-violence causes.
