A&E Cancels 'The Glades'
A&E has canceled "The Glades" after four seasons. The show, which averaged 2.6 million viewers per episode, delivered a season-best 3.4 million total viewers during its Aug. 26 season finale.
The Glades" stars Australian actor Matt Passmore as Jim Longworth, an attractive, brilliant, yet hard to get along with homicide detective from Chicago who takes a job with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement after being wrongfully accused of sleeping with his former captain's wife. Kiele Sanchez, Carlos Gomez, Uriah Shelton, Jordan Wall and Michelle Hurd also star.
The drama premiered in July 2010 and was the network's first original series to get greenlit for more than one season. The season premiere was A&E's most watched and highest-rated episode at that time.
A&E has decided to renew "Longmire" and greenlit a second season of "Bates Motel." It is also launching "Those Who Kill" in 2014 starring Chloe Sevigny.
