CMT Music Awards: Winners, Fashion & A Tribute To Oklahoma Tornado Victims
On Wednesday night, Oklahoma natives Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert made their state proud by winning some of the evening's top awards at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn.
Underwood (pictured above) won the coveted "Video Of The Year" prize, beating Brad Paisley, Tim McGraw and Swift. She sang "See You Again" with a church choir and dedicated the song to the victims of last month's tornadoes in Oklahoma. Fans gave her a standing ovation following her performance.
Lambert, who lives in Tishomingo, Ok., with her husband Shelton, won "Female Video of the Year" for "Mama's Broken Heart." She also took home the trophy for "CMT Performance of the Year."
"The Voice" star Shelton was unable to attend the show, but his wife accepted his "Male Video" award for "Sure Be Cool If You Did." Lambert explained: "Blake couldn't be here tonight, he's on a plane. He tried really hard to get here...But I'm gonna take this home on his behalf. Honey, I'm drinking for two tonight. I love you!"
