Celebrities were in full force during day one of the Venice Film Festival.  "The Ides of March" red carpet included Marisa Tomei (who at 46 still looks fabulous), George Clooney, Diane Kruger, Evan Rachel Wood and Cindy Crawford.

In the film, an ambitious press secretary works overtime to land his candidate in office, but quickly becomes a victim of back-room politics.

Clooney wrote and directed the adaptation of the play by Beau Willimon. Clooney, Ryan Gosling, Tomei, and Paul Giamatti star.
