Spring is finally in full swing, and that means that it’s prime season for driving around with the windows in your car down, blasting whatever music you enjoy playing loudly and annoying others with. There are a few songs that you should avoid playing while the windows are down at all costs, however:
10. “Bow Wow” Lil Bow Wow
Apparently, Lil’ Bow Wow is just Bow Wow now. Well, hopefully when he lost the Lil’ moniker, he also lost this song with it. Easily one of the worst rap songs ever, even considering the fact that it was sung by a child, this song should not be played by anyone anyw...

Before the release of Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, Phoenix were the best kept secret in music. The band had already released three fantastic albums, and with their third, It’s Never Been Like That being the most radio friendly of the bunch, it seemed like Wolfgang would finally be the album to break the group into the mainstream, and it in fact was. Singles “Lisztomania” and “1901” were huge hits, and the group secured spots headlining various music festivals and numerous late night television show appearances.
Four years after the release of Wolfgang, the follow up Bankrupt! is now out and i...

Yeah Yeah Yeahs “Mosquito” April 16
The Yeah Yeah Yeahs have had a few brushes with mainstream success in the form of singles like “Maps” and “Heads Will Roll,” but on their latest release they sound more edgy and experimental than ever, yet manage to also be completely entertaining and engrossing at the same time. It’s clear from this record th...

The idea of singing in front of a large group of strangers is often a terrifying one, but luckily karaoke exists to allow for this with little or no pressure on the singer. Alcohol is also usually a contributing factor to the lack of pressure, but still it gives the chance for those who can't normally sing or are afraid of performing the chance to get up in front of others (who may or may not be intoxicated) and sing and perform. There are plenty of great songs to sing at karaoke, but there are a few particular ones that should be avoided at all cost. Here are ten of those songs.
10. "Wh...

The landscape of music has changed drastically in the last ten years; the internet has allowed countless bedroom producers to become big name recording artists (i.e. M83), indie bands like Modest Mouse, Wilco, and the Flaming Lips are all stars in their own right, and groups like Fun. have broken completely into the mainstream.
“Give Up” may not be the genesis of this shift, but it certainly marks one of the most important releases of the last ten years, and perhaps the most influential one.

There was cause for concern when James Blake announced that his second album was titled "Overgrown." Blake has always been famous for his sparse sound, with layers of sound existing so far apart that the distance can practically be measured with a yard stick. Despite the album title, though, Blake has retained his signature sound, and only really minimally expands on it here; delivering a very solid second record that may lack surprises, but makes up for it in terms of overall sound quality.
Blake has always straddled the lines between dubstep and R&B, and his fragile voice brings to mind ...

In the digital age of music, it's easy to miss some of the best releases of any given month because it seems like these days, so much music comes out at the same time. With that in mind, here are the ten albums from March 2013 that you may have missed or ignored that should be obtained, as they were the best releases of the month.
10. "The Next Day" - David Bowie
David Bowie took 10 years off after releasing "Reality" in 2003, and it felt like 10 years too long. "The Next Day" contains his best songwriting since the Berlin era in the early 80's, with stand out tracks like the incre...

Season three of The Walking Dead has without a doubt been the strongest season of the show so far, and so the stakes were high for the finale. Most expected an intense battle between the Governor and Rick's prison group, but what we instead got was a somber and subtle one that managed to successfully wrap up the entire season, and in many ways the entire show. Honestly, this could have probably been the series finale, not just the season one.
The episode began with the Governor torturing Milton for betraying him by burning the zombie pits. He then sends Milton into the torture room that An...

Pope Francis I will be inaugurated as Pope on March 19, and ultimately it will be a very important and serious occasion. So, in order to prevent any really awkward moments, here are 10 songs that should not be played at any cost.
10. "Running with the Devil" Van Halen
One would hope that the new Pope doesn't "live...like there's no tomorrow." That would lead to some awkward thoughts on the afterlife.
9. "Dear God" XTC
This song is about questioning faith in religion, and features lyrics like "Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are just somebody's unholy hoax."
8. "God's Away on Busi...

This week's episode was far and away the best episode of season three yet. That's a bold statement to make, considering how strong the season has been on a whole, but this episode stood out for many distinctive reasons, most notably for the way it developed three of the shows most important characters.
The episode begins with Rick, Carl, and Michonne in the process of making a run when they pass by a hitch hiker, who they refuse to stop and help. Their SUV gets stuck, and they get attacked by walkers, which they easily clear out. Rick and Carl have a great father and son bonding moment whe...
