Now that production is in full building-to-building swing on "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" in the Big Apple, Columbia Pictures has now shot out its official presser with a few stringy plot details about the flick in its web.

In addition to assuring the return of Andrew GarfieldEmma Stone and Sally Field (duh), add-ons Jamie FoxxShailene WoodleyDane DeHaanColm Feore and Paul Giamatti are also now confirmed.

The story (via Collider) follows Peter Parker, whose "life is busy" what with snatching up bad guys and smooching his lady friend Gwen Stacy, so for him "high school graduation can't come quickly enough." Oh, and he's totes taking Gwen's daddy's warning to stay away from the girl with a grain of salt because "that's a promise he just can't keep."

Meanwhile, trouble is a-brewing in the form of the series' newest ne'er do well villain Electro (Jamie Foxx's finally revealed character) and the return of his old pal Harry Osborn (Dane DeHann's part), and Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater is about to unlock some "new clues about his past" to complicate that wicked case of senioritis a little further.

Still left uncertain is the role Paul Giamatti has been tapped for and Colm Feore's introduction is a mystery as well - though speculation points to Harry's father, Green Goblin Norman Osborn himself, as he even kinda looks like "Spider-Man 2" star Willem Dafoe. Also interesting is the lack of plot mention of Shailene Woodley's Miss Mary Jane, but fans of the comic book series will well know that her entrance to the movie means bad news for little Gwen.

"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" is being directed by the returning Mark Webb and will land in theaters on May 2, 2014.
