'Hitchcock' Trailer Is Downright Hitchcockian
Considering the fact that Alfred Hitchcock is widely revered as one of the most popular and acclaimed directors in the history of motion pictures, it takes some pretty brave filmmakers to try and make a movie about him. After all, whatever you come up with is going to be automatically compared with Hitchcock's own work. And can anything look good by comparison?
Well, the first trailer for "Hitchcock" is here and you may be surprised by just how close it comes to meeting those lofty standards.
Then again, you may not be surprised considering how fantastic the cast of "Hitchcock" is: Anthony Hopkins, a Hollywood legend in his own right, plays the iconic director, while Helen Mirren plays his wife, Alma Reville. And with a story that focuses on their relationship during the filming of Hitchcock's most famous film, "Psycho," director Sacha Gervasi has put together a film that should excite both movie buffs and romantics.
Add in Scarlett Johansson as "Psycho" star Janet Leigh and you have the makings of a modern classic. Courtesy of First Showing, here's a look at "Hitchcock," which is set to open in limited release on November 23:
