Lights Up on 'I Will Follow You Into the Dark' Trailer

Can't a girl meet a nice guy without having a bunch of demon-things get involved?
Mischa Barton trades the sunny "O.C." for a much less well-lit location in "I Will Follow You Into the Dark," a supernatural thriller that demonstrates how there's nothing like a little paranormal activity to shake up a mourning period.
Barton plays Sophia, a woman stuck in a state of cynicism and a fear of the unknown after the death of her parents. Things seem to be looking up after she meets nice guy Adam (Ryan Eggold), but true love comes with a price after her new squeeze disappears from his apartment. Sophia must traverse the labyrinth of Adam's building to find him, a quest that becomes much more dangerous when creatures that look like those things from "The Descent" start showing up.
It's good to see there's life (or afterlife, rather) for Mischa Barton after "The O.C.," and the film looks to have quite a few twist and turns as it segues from tragic drama to uplifting romance to full-blown supernatural horror. But, really, couldn't have someone finished shaving dear old dad before he headed off to the great beyond?
