Anna Kendrick To Star In Indie Comedy 'Drinking Buddies'

Raise a glass to Anna Kendrick! The "Twilight" alum is certainly keeping busy lately with all sorts of film projects, and now she's stopped by the bar to score another: "Drinking Buddies," according to Deadline.
Not much is known about the indie comedy, though we assume it's about a group of buddies who like to ... well, drink together. The film is set to be directed by Joe Swanberg, a rather prolific filmmaker who's made something of a name for himself in the mumblecore DIY genre (it's probably no coincidence that the lo-fi auteur directed a segment in the upcoming analog horror movie, "V/H/S").
Anna Kendrick has two upcoming films that will be promoted at this week's San Diego Comic-Con: "ParaNorman," the animated sci-fi film that hits theaters on Aug. 17, and "End of Watch," the crime drama opening Sept. 28. She's also got "Pitch Perfect" opening on Oct. 5 and will probably be unveiling Robert Redford's "The Company You Keep" at Sundance next year.
"Drinking Buddies" will commence with production in Chicago later this month. There are a few bars in the Windy City, if we remember correctly.
