While the recent confirmation that Jon Favreau will be back as Happy Hogan brought a smile to our faces, a new bit of Asian flavor casting may have also revealed what "Iron Man 3" might actually be bringing to the table.
These tasty morsels of plot come courtesy of Twitch, who confirms that sexy Mainland Chinese superstar Fan Bingbingmight be added to the roster of the Marvel blockbuster.
Often described as "China's Monica Bellucci," the glamorous actress recently played opposite Andy Lau in "Shaolin," and is rumored to play Lau's wife in the latest "Iron Man," which recently began shooting in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Though confirmations of Lau's involvement have been off-and-on, with Twitch reporting that he has yet to be contacted while Comic Book Movie says he and Bingbing are in, along with Yang Mi.
They also confirm (via Hong-Kong-based newspaper Apple Daily) that the Beijing and Shanghai portions of the shoot will center on Tony Stark's attempt to rescue a friend's daughter who has been abducted and taken to China. Lau's scientist character supposedly plays a substantial role in helping equip ol' Shellhead to defeat The Mandarin. Oh, and part of the battle might take place in and around The Great Wall of China! Excited, yet?
The Shane Black-directed entry has just had its budget spiked from $140-million to $200-million due to the success of "The Avengers," so expect this international production to be the big ticket of next summer.
