So, guess who just peed on Zac Efron? Okay, so that's probably not a question you ever thought someone would ask.
But if reading that was a surprise, imagine how the audience at the Cannes Film Festival felt last night during the premiere of "The Paperboy" when they actually got to see Nicole Kidman relieve herself all over the heartthrob.
C'mon, Nicole, "Charlie St. Cloud" might have been a disappointment, but that seems like an overreaction.
We jest because, well, what else are you going to do with a scene like this? Or perhaps a more pressing question is, WTF? Well, here's the answer: In the scene in question, Efron has just been stung by a school of jellyfish and Kidman rushes to save him. And then ... well, read Vulture's description of the scene at your own peril:
"Nicole Kidman looms over a supine Zac Efron, cries out, 'If anyone's gonna pee on him, it's gonna be me,' and then squirts an impressive stream of urine onto the 'High School Musical star's face' and bare chest."
It's all part of director Lee Daniels' crazy follow-up to the Oscar nominated "Precious." For those curious how our culture reached this milestone, Efron plays a guy investigating the mysterious death of a prison inmate (John Cusack). Kidman plays "a sexual obsessive who writes letters to Cusack in prison and is determined to marry him."
And then this happens.
Of course, Daniels also makes sure to strip Efron down to his skivvies at every opportunity, and he's completely unapologetic about it. When asked about it, the director declared, "He's good-looking! The camera can't help but love him. And I'm gay!"
All we can say is, top that, Lucas Grabeel!
