The canine star of "The Artist" was supposedly going to be retiring from show business after making his appearance at the Oscars.

Well, now that "The Artist" took home a whole bunch of those Oscars, a lot of job offers are no doubt piling up in Uggie's doghouse -- which means plans for retiring to a life of lounging by the pool might've been a bit premature. 

However, Uggie has gone in a rather unexpected direction following his scene-stealing turn in this year's Best Picture winner: he's gone and gotten himself an office day job.

Specifically, he's now the official Spokesdog for Nintendo, the company behind "Nintendogs + cats" and other fine video game amusements.

It looks like a tough gig, but at least he gets a lunch break -- and seems to have earned the big boss' approval. Watch a dog at work below, courtesy of YouTube.
