Anthony LaPagliaAnthony LaPaglia is about to bring a bit of Australia to the South.

The "Without a Trace" star is finding there's life on the big screen after seven seasons on television as he joins the ever-growing cast of Quentin Tarantino's "Django Unchained," according to Deadline.

LaPaglia will play the leader of a group of greedy Australians who encounter Django (Jamie Foxx) as they're escorting a group of slaves recently purchased as fighters. It's also been revealed that he and Joseph Gordon-Levitt will be playing "mean brothers."

LaPaglia joins a cast that includes Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio, Samuel L. Jackson, Christoph Waltz, Kerry Washington, Kurt Russell, Don Johnson, Gerald McRaney and Tom Savini, among others. And we have a feeling this cast is just going to keep growing.

Anthony LaPaglia recently worked the Australian accent in P.J. Hogan's "Mental" and will soon appear in the new film adaptation of Arthur Miller's play, "A View From a Bridge." He'll also soon be heard reprising the voice of Boss Skua in "Happy Feet Two," opening Nov. 18.

To us, though, he'll always be Mike Myers' undercover cop pal in "So I Married an Axe Murderer" and the cool record store boss in "Empire Records."

"Django Unchained" will begin principal photography in January and will hit theaters on Dec. 25, 2012.
