Ben Foster Embraces A Life Of Crime In 'Gotti'
Foster has claimed the key role of John Gotti, Jr., son of John Sr. (John Travolta) and his wife, Victoria (Kelly Preston). "The Devil's Double" star Dominic Cooper had been previously rumored for the role.
Foster joins a cast that also includes Al Pacino and -- at least last we heard -- Lindsay Lohan. Joe Pesci is currently suing the production over various disputes, though it's unclear if that also means he's no longer attached to the project. You never know with these things.
Ben Foster was recently seen learning how to be a killer with Jason Statham in "The Mechanic." He's made quite a career for himself lately in being one of Hollywood's go-to psycho boys, bringing a dangerous and sometimes off-putting intensity to his roles in "3:10 to Yuma" and "30 Days of Night."
We'll always remember him as the sad sack who gets dumped and later ends up with Kirsten Dunst in "Get Over It," though.
"Gotti: In the Shadow of My Father" begins production on Jan. 3, 2012 under the direction of Barry Levinson (who previously worked with Foster on 1999's "Liberty Heights").
