Alison Brie and Lizzy Caplan Prepare to 'Save the Date'
In the sea of sugary sweet rom-coms, how do you make your film stand out? A good place to start is by lining up a stellar cast from the young Hollywood set.
And that's exactly what Mike Mohan (who helmed the 2010 Sundance flick "One Too Many Mornings") is doing for his next project.
The up-and-coming writer/ director has just signed "Mad Men" starlet Alison Brie, as well as the brunette beauty Lizzy Caplan (whom you'll remember from her breakout role as the sassy Janis Ian in "Mean Girls") to star in his independent romantic comedy "Save the Date."
Brie and Caplan will play two sisters, the former one at peace with her life choices, the latter… well… not. Hilarity ensuies.
The duo joins an already sparkling list of names that includes seasoned thesp Geoffrey Arend—who will be a love interest for Caplan's character—and "Party Down" alum Martin Starr—whose role is officially unknown (but we bet he'll be Brie's husband/ fiancé).
Mohan will direct from a script he co-wrote with Jeffrey Brown and Egan Reich, Indie Wire reveals.
The flick is scheduled to shoot in L.A. next month, which means Brie and Caplan better get ready for some fun in the sun, because if any two ladies can "Save the Date," it's them.
