Two titan forces of the Twitterverse are about to merge into one unstoppable cinematic force.
Musical wunderkind Justin Bieber and scruffy social media wizard/actor Ashton Kutcher are joining forces for a new buddy comedy entitled "What Would Kenny Do?", according to the Los Angeles Times.
Sadly, the movie has nothing to do with "South Park"'s Kenny being repeatedly killed. Oh well.
The movie will star Kutcher as a successful 30-something who jumps back in time to help his awkward, 17-year-old self, played by Bieber. An original draft of the script was a hard R comedy in which the Kutcher character was actually a hologram that Bieber would have discovered, but that idea has since been reworked by the writing duo behind "(500) Days of Summer." Less raunchy, less holograms, more time travel, more goofy fun between two charismatic, shaggy guys with a ton of hair.
Bieber has been quietly discussing a jump to fictional film for quite some time, but "What Would Kenny Do?" looks like it'll be the first project to come out the gate. Will Smith's Overbrook Entertainment, who have been developing the project for months, will help produce Bieber's big screen acting debut (that's what you get for being friends with Jaden!).
Kutcher, we imagine, is somewhere in a dark corner patiently waiting for the greenlight and thanking his lucky stars he gets to be in a movie with Bieber. He could use the hit.
There's no word on who will direct "What Would Kenny Do?" or when we can expect to see it in theaters, but with mega-talent like Bieber on board, people would be crazy to let this one sit dormant for too long.
