A few months ago is was Paul Walker and now, yet again, more tragic news with the passing of Philip Seymour Hoffman. As the sad news spreads, stars such as Jim Carrey, Mia Farrow, Elijah Wood and others are among those who have begun to pay tribute following Hoffman's death from an apparent drug overdose on Sunday.

Jonas Brothers star Kevin Jonas has become a father for the first time.

The singer's wife, Danielle, gave birth to a baby girl on Sunday afternoon.

Kevin took to Twitter.com to share the first photo of Danielle holding their bundle of joy, with a caption that reads, "On this day, a little star was born. Meet Alena Rose Jonas."

Kevin's younger brother, Nick Jonas, also took to the microblogging site to acknowledge the happy news just days after the brothers' grandfather passed away.

Rapper Snoop Dogg has become the unlikely new face of British price comparison website Moneysupermarket.com.

The rapper is lending his face to the money-saving firm, which allows users to compare the costs of mortgages, credit cards and loans, in an advert, suggesting that saving money can make you as cool as the hip-hop icon.

The commercial features Snoop's trademark car, a Chevrolet Lowrider, and is soundtracked by the rapper's debut single Who Am I (What's My Name?).

The music star appears at the end of the advert to deliver the company's slogan, "You're so Money Supermarket."

Oscar-winning actor Maximilian Schell has died at the age of 83.

The star passed away after a "sudden illness" in a clinic in his native Austria on Saturday, his agent has confirmed. He had fallen ill while filming last month.
