'American Horror Story' Renewed for Season 3; Jessica Lange Set to Return
You scream, I scream, we all scream for more American Horror Story!
FX has ordered a third season of the smash miniseries, the network said in a release Thursday. The miniseries will consist of thirteen new episodes.
Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, the Co-Creators and Executive Producers behind American Horror Story, have not released a storyline or title for the new season, but the network has confirmed that Jessica Lange will return.
“With American Horror Story: Asylum, Ryan and Brad have raised the bar in every way from Murder House, the first American Horror Story miniseries,” FX Networks President and General Manager John Landgraf announced in the statement. “And their original idea — the notion of doing an anthological series of miniseries with a repertory cast — has proven groundbreaking, wildly successful and will prove to be trendsetting. We can’t wait to see what deviously brilliant ideas they come up with for their third miniseries.”
Production for the new season of American Horror Story will start up next summer and the series will return in the fall of 2013.
Wednesday’s episode, ‘I Am Anne Frank: Part 2,’ beat out all broadcast networks in the 10 pm time slot with Adults (2.1), Women (2.4) and Men (1.7) with a 30% overall increase in Adults 18-34.
American Horror Story: Asylum is on Wednesdays at 10/9c on FX.
