'Insidious' To Get the Sequel Treatment
Last year's horror hit, Insidious, will get a sequel sometime next year.
The first film, from Saw masterminds James Wan and Leigh Whannell, was 2011's most profitable movie, raking in $100 worldwide on a $1.5 million budget. The pair are in talks to return for the sequel, as director and writer respectively. Producer Jason Blum is already attached.
The main story of Insidious is typical haunted house fare: Family moves into new house. The house is creepy. Family leaves. But in a twist, the hauntings don't stop with the move. Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne starred as the married couple. No word yet on if they'll return for the sequel.
Production is set to start sometime this year for a 2013 release date.
