Bring It Bitches: Real Housewives of New Jersey Reunion Gets Nasty

Last Sunday’s part one reunion of the housewives of New Jersey is certainly what no expected it was the reunion from hell.  The reunion divided the cast, pinning Teresa and Caroline against one another trading jabs all night and the only ally Teresa had was herself.  Towards the end of the season viewers found out that Teresa was playing both sides for each of her two faces and some of the wives weren’t going to let her get away with it. It all culminated with the season finale when Teresa’s latest cookbook “ Fabulicious” was released, realizing she could sell more cookbooks with flies than honey she spent most of it bashing her co-stars instead of stories about the recipes themselves. It wasn’t a surprise then when Teresa became the vileness of the night at the reunion and seemed to be filled with nothing other than hate and anger.  Besides tension that could cut a knife there was another elephant in the room co-star Jacqueline Laurita was missing. Caroline explained while filming season 4 an incident happened that left Laurita shaken and not wanting to partake in the reunion show.  Teresa chimes in “if your going to start something finish it”.

Teresa told host Andy Cohen that she was the one attacked by the cast specifically glaring at Caroline. Teresa also goes into victim mode and when she sheds empty tears stating she has been crying for days over her fallout with her former bestie Jacqueline.  Teresa says that it’s ridiculous that something so stupid ruined a friendship that has been over ten years.  Funny, bashing your best friend’s heritage and talking behind their backs damaging their reputation doesn’t seem like a silly little thing to the rest of the housewives and the world. The drama continues when sister-in-law asks about her description in the book. Teresa plays coy and tells Melissa that she has three sisters-in-law how does Melissa know she was talking about her. Teresa also explains that her comment about Caroline was a joke and that if she didn’t like Ms. Manzo why would she include a beautiful photo of the two in the book.

Caroline says she wants the picture of the two of them taken out of Teresa’s book but she can leave her comments about her in since they show what kind of person Teresa really is. She further reams out Teresa for poisoning her mind and influencing her opinion against fellow housewives and Teresa’s relative’s cousin Kathy Wakile and sister in law Melissa Gorga.  Teresa fires back and tells Caroline that she is her own person and can make up her own mind a message she has been spouting for the past three seasons to everyone else.  Host Andy Cohen then brings up another sore subject for the cast former New Jersey housewife Danielle Staub.

Cohen questions Melissa unparticular about any contact with the former troublemaker. Melissa admits that Danielle found her on Face book and they exchanged a couple of messages through email, but was a bit suspicious about leaving viewers to think there was more to the story.  Apparently it had to do with Teresa’s husband not visiting Melissa in the hospital after giving birth to son Joey. Teresa says but he came to the house afterward. Teresa then makes herself look even worse when she whines about the fact that she was not aware that Melissa and Kathy were coming on the show and says she should have been asked first. The narcissism then kicks into full swing when Teresa says both had ulterior motives for coming on the show namely to pursue and promote their singing and baking careers.  Melissa tells Cohen that Teresa threatened her when she found that the younger, classier housewife was going to be on the show. She says Teresa tried to dissuade her claiming she was going to be chastised for her forehead.  Caroline puts her two cents in and tells Teresa she told Melissa she had a “face like a horse” and told the cast not to compliment Melissa or film with her. Caroline says Teresa misled the viewers crucifying Melissa and Kathy unnecessarily to the public before viewers had the chance to make up their minds. Cohen chimes in telling Teresa that she has no reason to be angry. Teresa tells Andy that she feels that the feud with her brother stems from anger that she originally kept him and his wife Melissa off the show but she has changed now.  Cohen then continues to add to the drama once again and replays the clip of the Christening debacle.

The Christening is revisited and the waterworks begin again for Teresa. Ms. Guidice tears up over her parent’s reaction and tells Andy that her father still has not seen that episode and does not know that her brother called her “garbage”.  Melissa admits she is disgusted by the spectacle, she insinuates that the feud between the two began when Melissa and Joey weren’t invited to the season 2 premiere party.  Teresa then fires back with a dig at Melissa saying she is a bad wife because she did not call her and ask to have her husband invited to the premier.  Kathy says that was uncalled for and offensive but Teresa disagrees and tells Andy she didn’t invite Melissa because she had just given birth to Joey.  However, Andy and the others agree that an invitation should have at least have been extended. Andy then asks about the Gorga temper and Kathy tells Andy they love with everything and feelings run deeply and Melissa confirms that’s how Italians act and she is 100% Italian. Andy asks the cast if Teresa’s daughter Gia who adores her Zio Joe watched the horrific episode unfold. Teresa says Gia did not watch the episode but Caroline disagrees and said Gia saw it along with Teresa, Jacqueline and husband Chris in Jacqueline’s basement.  Teresa says even after all the drama she has forgiven her brother for the “garbage” comment but again Caroline disagrees.

Caroline tells Andy that not only did Gia watch it but was upset by it and shocks Andy and everyone when she admits Teresa told her that she never wants to make up with her brother and that she thinks he’s an a**hole. When Melissa here’s this remark, her mouth drops open and she gasps at the horror of the revelation.  After that comment, Teresa says Caroline is lying but Ms. Manzo insists she is not a liar but Teresa just calls her “pathetic”.  Andy then tries to change the subject when he tries to get the cast to explain their version of the New Jersey dictionary such as “ingredientses” and the missing verse in “Amazing Grace” to “save a wench like me” and then Melissa expects people to believe she doesn’t have a stripper past. Stupidity isn’t sexy.  However, no of the wives find Cohen’s comments funny and laugh it off but are obviously uncomfortable. Tension is further escalated when Melissa’s singing career has come up and we learn nothing has come of it.

Melissa tells Andy her husband built her the studio and she released her first single “ On Display” independently and has to continue that way because no one has shown interest and that apparently surprises her. She says it’s a hard road but she thinks her father would be proud of her accomplishment if he were alive but not of her stint on the show. Andy then asks Melissa if she isn’t making money off of her singing career, how exactly does the couple earn their income? Melissa says Joey buys warehouses and converts them into houses and apartments and also designs custom homes.  Then Andy throws another log on the fire when the “gold-digger” comment comes up.  Melissa is appalled once again stating she would have never said such a thing, but Teresa is adamant. She says Melissa got drunk once and told everyone she “wasn’t going to be stupid like her sisters”. Melissa reams Teresa out and is furious and Teresa tries to get Kathy on her side to no avail.  Melissa tells Teresa to stop and calls her the “devil” but Teresa says if anyone’s the devil she is, she’s wearing red and then she follows that up by calling her a b**ch. Trying to find some positives Andy compliments Teresa on her appearance (new hair) and successful business endeavors. Teresa tells Andy she loves working and wants to teach her daughters they don’t have to rely on a man to bring home the bacon and wants them to go to college. Teresa seems to be the target of the night as a viewer question brings up her anti-Semitic remark about Jews.

Teresa makes light of the situation and says she meant nothing harmful or offensive by it, it was a joke that one of her Jewish friends told her.  She also defends her lavish Christmas gifts saying those were bought before the bankruptcy and two hundred dollar gifts are the norm for her children. Andy also brings up the fact that “juicy” Joe is being indicted for bankruptcy fraud and could force a prison term if indicted. Teresa then changes the subject and says she shouldn’t discuss the case and even though she was cleared of all charges she still has to repay her debts but claims not remember how long she has to do so. Teresa then stirs the pot when she claims that the only reason that Kathy and Melissa and their families have the money they do is because Joe showed them how to make money “ flipping houses” but at this point it looks like Teresa has just flipped out.  She tells the ladies they would not be where they are if it weren’t for her husband. Melissa fires back and tells Teresa that Teresa didn’t want them to learn the trade because she wanted to be the only successful one in the family.  Teresa says Joe will help anyone out and teach them whatever they want to know. Melissa snaps back that know one wants his business advice, especially after everything the couple is going through. She also states that Teresa thinks she and Kathy should be grateful to Teresa for their success on the show and everything they have is because of her.

Andy brings up Teresa’s debt question again but she says she’s unsure of when the amount is to be repaid and says Joe is innocent. Caroline gives her a disapproving look and Teresa tells her to stay out of her business, she doesn’t get involved in Caroline’s business at the Brownstone. Teresa has pushed Caroline’s last button.

Caroline loses it and fires back at Teresa and says she feels like she is getting “dumber” watching the chaos unfold as the minutes go by and feels like she’s caught in the whirlwind of Teresa’s stupidity. Teresa can only continue to repeat her tired story of how everyone should stay out of it. Caroline tells Andy she’s just going to ignore her and let it go in one ear and out the other.

With a final word to end the night, Teresa tells Caroline she should take her own advice and Caroline says she wishes she had. Caroline says if she did she would have been rid of Teresa two years ago. Ouch, I guess this is one pair that is not “ thick as thieves”. It might be the end of the battle for these two but the war is just beginning. Tune in to part two of the reunion tonight.
