It's been a whirlwind year for Beyonce, who celebrates her 33rd birthday on Thursday (Sept. 4).
Beginning with a surprise album drop in December 2013, the singer finished up her "Mrs. Carter show World Tour" in March after nearly a year on the road and headed right back out to co-headline a mega tour with husband Jay-Z (let's face it, everyone was there to see Bey) for their "On The Run" stadium tour.
Last month the singer received the Video Vanguard Award at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards, along with two other VMAs for singles "Pretty Hurts" and "Drunk in Love."
Adding to her big day, Beyonce's HBO special "Life Is But A Dream" also debuts on Thursday evening right after an hour of Beyonce X10 episodes -- the four-minute concert videos that aired on the pay cable network. The fun starts at 8pm on HBO Zone.
The singer, Born Beyonce Giselle Knowles in 1981, began her career in girl group Girl's Tyme in 1990 before ultimately settling on a lineup of women later in the decade and taking the name Destiny's Child. Their breakthrough came in 1998 with the release of their second album, "The Writing's on the Wall," which produced the smash hit "Say My Name."
Happy birthday queen B!
