'Orange Is The New Black, 'Fargo' Win Big At Critics' Choice Awards

Orange Is The New Black

Netflix prison comedy Orange Is The New Black and FX dark comedy series Fargo, based on the 1996 Coen Brothers film, were the big winners at Thursday night's fourth annual Critics' Choice Television Awards, held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Both series landed three awards each.

"Orange" took home awards for Best Comedy Series, Best Guest Performer in a Comedy Series (Uzo Aduba) and Best Supporting Actress (Kate Mulgrew). "Mom" star Allison Janney, who won Best Guest Performer in a Drama Series for her recurring role on Showtime's "Masters of Sex" shared the Best Supporting Actress with Mulgrew.

For "Fargo," stars Billy Bob Thornton and Allison Tolman landed the Best Actor in a Movie or Mini-Series and Best Supporting Actress in a Movie or Mini-Series awards, respectively; while the series took the Best Mini-Series award.

"Breaking Bad" won the Best Drama Series for its final season, and star Aaron Paul won the Best Supporting Actor trophy.

The Best Actress award went to "Orphan Black's" Tatiana Maslany, while Matthew McConaughey -- who's been having a stellar year -- landed the Best Actor award for his work in HBO's "True Detective."

Jim Parsons landed the Best Actor in a Comedy Series" for "Big Bang Theory; while "Veep" star Julia Louis-Dreyfus took home the Best Actress in a Comedy Series for the HBO sitcom.

"Brooklyn Nine-Nine's" Andre Braugher won Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.

Actress Bellamy Young won the Best Supporting Actress award for her role on ABC's "Scandal."

TV creator Ryan Murphy had a big night also, his "The Normal Heart" took the Best Movie or Miniseries prize, while its star, Matt Bomer, picked up the Best Supporting Actor in a Movie or Mini-Series. Jessica Lange, who stars in Murphy's "American Horror Story: Coven," won Best Actress in a Movie or Mini-Series.

The awards show was hosted by Cedric the Entertainer.
