George R.R. Martin revealed on Tuesday night's episode of Conan that he still uses a DOS operating system word processor to write all of his novels.

The Game of Thrones author guested on the show and shared his writing preference, saying that he's fond of the old computer system.

"I actually like it. It does everything I want a word processing program to do and it doesn't do anything else," Martin explained. "I don't want any help, you know?

"I hate some of these modern systems where you type a lowercase letter and it becomes a capital. I don't want a capital. If I wanted a capital I would have typed a capital. I know how to work the shift key!"

The author is still connected to the outside world though, as he does have an everyday system set up for blogging and email.
