"Glee" star Cory Monteith, who died tragically over the weekend, portrayed a drug-addicted hustler in his last film, "McCanick." The film's director said that Monteith pushed for the role because it was very familiar to him, having come from years of struggles to keep his own drug addictions at bay. (story)

It's official: Jenny McCarthy is joining "The View." The actress, who has posed nude for Playboy magazine several times, will replace co-host Elisabeth Hasselback, who announced her departure last week. Co-host Joy Behar is also leaving the show, but so far there's no word on who will replace her. (story)

Chris Brown is now facing jail time over his recent hit-and-run. The singer was involved in a fender-bender in May and didn't go about handling it properly. The driver of the other car says there was no damage or injury, so she isn't pressing on with her case. The Los Angeles District Attorney's office, however, plans on going after Brown and prosecuting him for violating his probation, which a judge revoked on Monday. (story)

Country singer Randy Travis, who suffered from congestive heart failure nearly two weeks ago, is now awake and in stable condition at the Heart Hostpital Baylor Plano in Plano, Texas, where he's being treated. The singer also suffered a stroke. (story)

Stacy Keibler is doing just fine after her split from actor George Clooney. The former WWE wrestler is hosting a new TV game show, which premieres soon, and she's been too busy with work to let the breakup get her down. The couple was together for two years and Clooney reportedly broke up with her over the phone from halfway around the world. (story)

"Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling released a new novel earlier this year and no one knew she wrote it because she went by the nom-de-plume "Robert Galbraith." Rowling's book, "The Cuckoo's Calling" was critically acclaimed, but since Galbraith was a first-time author the book wasn't selling very well. Britain's Sunday Times did some sleuthing and discovered Rowling's secret and exposed her, after which she confirmed that she wrote the book under the pen name. Since then the book has hit number-one on Amazon. (story)

Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber were spotted together drinking beer at a Fourth of July party in the Hollywood Hills. Are they? Aren't they? (story)

Jennifer Lopez reportedly sold out. The Human Rights Foundation claims that the singer has raked in over $10 million in the last two years by performing private gigs for some of the world's "worst thugs and their cronies." (story)

A lucky fan of the Dave Matthews Band pulled over to help a stranded cyclist with a flat tire on Saturday on her way to see the band's performance in Hershey, Pennsylvania on Saturday, and that cyclist happened to be frontman Dave Matthews himself. The singer was out on a ride in a rural area of the town prior to the concert when his bike suffered a flat tire. Unfortunately he didn't have his cell phone with him, but a good samaritan passing by stopped to help out and got a nice surprise. She also got some really cool "thank you" gifts from the singer.
