Kathy Bates Thanks Fans For Support After Sharing News Of Her Double Mastectomy
Actress Kathy Bates, who underwent a double mastectomy over the summer after doctors found a lump in her breast; has returned to twitter after months of being inactive to thank fans for their support.
The Misery star, an ovarian cancer survivor, went public with the news of the recent surgery in the new issue of People magazine.
"Hey All, sorry for the long silence. I was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 months ago & am recovering from a double mastectomy," she writes. "I don't miss my breasts as much as I miss Harry's Law. Thanks for all the sweet tweets. Y'all kept me going."
Legal drama Harry's Law, which Bates starred on, was canceled in May after a two-season run.
The actress famously bared her breasts for a jacuzzi scene in the 2002 film About Schmidt, which she co-starred in with Jack Nicholson.
