Lady Gaga shaved her head in tribute to photographer pal Terry Richardson's late mother.
Richardson's mother, Annie Lomax, died on Tuesday and the pop superstar took to her Little Monsters site to share the news, along with her radical new hairstyle.
"I did it for u Terry. I'm sorry about ure mommy," she writes; "She has princess die, but were all princess high"; the latter part referring to her recent single, "Princess Die."
The photo of Gaga's new hairdo shows the back of her head shaved and her long hair cut very short, similar to Miley Cyrus' recent cropping.
Photographer Richardson, known for his racy images of Hollywood starlets, recently collaborated with Lady Gaga on behind-the-scenes picture book chronicling a year in her life called LADY GAGA x TERRY RICHARDSON. The famous photog took over 100,000 pictures of Gaga for the project.
He posted his own tribute to his mom on his blog, TerrysDiary.com with an image of her and the message, "R.I.P. Annie Lomax, my mom 1938-2012."
