Nick Jonas has thanked his fans for supporting his stint in Broadway musical "How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying" after learning the show is to close early.

The pop star joined the production in January, taking over the role of J. Pierrepont Finch from Glee star Darren Criss, and he was due to stay on in the role until at least July.

But on Tuesday, producers announced the curtain would fall on the show for the final time on May 20 following sluggish box office sales.

Jonas has now expressed his gratitude to his devotees and to his Broadway colleagues for giving him the chance to shine on stage.

In a series of Twitter.com posts on Tuesday night, he wrote, "What an amazing experience it's been with @H2SBway! Thx (thanks) to all my Finch fans, producers and fellow cast. Thanks Broadway..."

And the singer/actor already knows what he'll be working on once the musical wraps - he'll be focusing his efforts on the new Jonas Brothers album.

He added, "Excited about my next adventure - I know 2 guys who are happy I'll be back in the studio to write again! @KevinJonas @JoeJonas".

Meanwhile, his stage co-star Michael Urie has also addressed the closure news, tweeting: "So saddened by @H2SBway ending next sunday, but having the time of my life till the end or bust!!! Come see us! proudtobeinthisfraternity".

The show debuted last year with Daniel Radcliffe in the lead role and was nominated for eight Tony Awards, winning a best actor trophy for John Larroquette.
