Rocker Jack White has scored his first trans-Atlantic number one album after topping the charts in America on Wednesday.

The former White Stripes star has landed his first U.S. number one with his debut solo release "Blunderbuss", which toppled Adele's "21" in the U.K. charts on Sunday.

Ironically, Adele's hit album jumps up a spot on the new Billboard 200 countdown to mirror the one-two punch in Britain this week.

Lionel Richie's former chart-topper, "Tuskegee", slips from one to three, while boy band One Direction's "Up All Night" rises a spot to four and former American Idol star Lee Brice's "Hard 2 Love" rounds out the top five.

Meanwhile, Gotye's hit "Somebody That I Used to Know" spends a third week atop the singles chart in America, becoming the first song to land digital sales of at least 400,000 for three consecutive weeks.

Fun.'s "We Are Young" stays put at two after spending six weeks on the top of the charts and Maroon 5's latest track "Payphone" holds at three.
