This Week's Shining & Falling Stars: David Letterman & Lindsay Lohan
Every week Starpulse will be highlighting the highs and lows in Hollywood, particularly those who shined and those who, well, didn't.
Shining Star - David Letterman
In just a few, short days, David Letterman was able to top Jay Leno in the ratings (at least for one night) and put his blackmailer behind bars. Now that's what you call a productive week!
According to preliminary numbers from ratings tracker Neilsen, Monday night's "Late Show with David Letterman" beat out "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" among adults 18-49 and adults 25-54. In other words, for "Late Show" advertisers it means ka-ching!
The comedic curmudgeon also layed the smackdown on Eric Halderman, the former CBS producer who pleaded guilty this week to trying to extort $2 million from Letterman. Halderman is expected to be sentenced to six months in the clink for threatening to expose the dirty details of Letterman's admitted affairs with "Late Show" staffers.
Besting Leno and getting a guy put away - justice served!
Falling Star - Lindsay Lohan
Filing a $100 million lawsuit that has everyone laughing at you - not the best move.
But that's precisely what the whacktress known as Lindsay Lohan is doing. Lohan reportedly sicked her lawyers on E-Trade, the company that makes those commercials starring talking babies who trade stocks. Apparently, LinLo believes one of the fictional babies named "Lindsay" is actually a parody of her. In the commercial, homewrecking and milk-loving Baby Lindsay is caught in a love triangle with some other bambinos.
Now this might be considered a PR stunt, except there are actual lawyers involved. My unsolicited legal advice to Lindsay? Get your blankie, take a nap, and call it a day.
