We never thought we’d be saying this: NBC won premiere week. Well, among 18-49 year-old viewers, anyway. That’s the first time that’s happened in nearly a decade. Buoyed by the strong performance of ‘Sunday Night Football,’ as well as killer numbers from ‘The Voice’ and the new drama ‘Revolution,’ the Peacock Network was tops in younger viewers. In terms of total viewers, NBC averaged 8.2 million viewers, an increase of 9 percent over last year.

CBS, meanwhile, won the week in total viewers, as usual, with 10.7 million. Still, that’s a 12 percent dip from last year despite good performances from the premiering ‘Vegas’ and ‘Sherlock,’ and stalwarts ‘NCIS’ and ‘NCIS: LA.’ ‘The Big Bang Theory’ outperformed ‘Two and a Half Men’ on Thursday to snag 5th place for the week.

ABC could brag about the Emmy-winning ‘Modern Family,’ which debuted its 4th season to 14.4 million viewers, good for 7th place. The only other scripted show on the network to place in the top 20 was ‘Once Upon a Time.’ And while ‘Dancing with the Stars’ did fine, its premiere was way down compared to previous seasons.

The X Factor’ is working out OK for FOX, but it’s no ‘The Voice’ or ‘American Idol.’ ‘Glee is doing slightly better in its 4th season, and ‘The Simpsons’ snagged more than 8 million viewers for the debut of its 24th (!) season.
