'The Closer'

Without the Olympics to entertain us, viewers turned to cable last week. While shows like ‘America’s Got Talent’ on NBC topped the chart, the finale of ‘The Closer’ closed out its run with over 9 million viewers, and would have placed third on the overall charts. Its spinoff, ‘Major Crimes,’ had a good debut with 7.2 million.

Otherwise, it was business as usual. ‘The Big Bang Theory' was the top scripted program with 8 million viewers, good for 4th place. And Gordon Ramsey’s new reality series, ‘Hotel Hell,’ attracted 5.1 million viewers, typical of his other programs. It narrowly missed out on placing in the top 20.
