In real life, it helps if you’ve got good chemistry with a co-worker but if you’re playing a homicide detective on a solid network series, it’s life and death. Detective Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) has been without a permanent partner on CBS’s “Blue Bloods” since Jennifer Esposito left last year leaving producers scrambling to find a replacement. But balancing the renegade Danny with a female partner who understands him but isn’t a doormat, was tricky. Enter Marisa Ramirez who just this month slipped into the role of Maria Baez like she’d been wearing the badge all along. The chemistry between Wahlberg and Ramirez is working and so is she. Ramirez will stay in the role for five more episodes and could be back for the fourth season.
If Ramirez looks familiar, it’s because, despite her age, she's already a veteran primetime player. Across the road at ABC, Ramirez is playing another cop – this time uniformed Officer Riley Dunn on “Body of Proof”. Other credits include “Spartacus: Gods of the Arena” and Lifetime’s “Prosecuting Casey Anthony.”
