LOS ANGELES (HOLLYWOOD UNWRAPPED) -- First, I’d like to wish all the mothers a very Happy Mothers Day! I want to make sure you all took your mother out for breakfast or at least got her a card or some flowers. If all of the above is out of the question because she’s not in your city or country, you should have at least given her a phone call to tell her how much she means to you.
I gave my Mom all the above but on Saturday, I got invited to several events, including the premiere of “Pirates of the Caribbean” at Disneyland. Yes, Captain Jack Sparrow and his crew took over the happiest place on earth. Even though I really wanted to, I didn’t attend this wonderful event and instead made the choice to get in touch with my feminine side at the 3rd Annual "On the Go Beauty" Presented by Joico. This was a Mother's Day Event at Siren studios in Hollywood.
I actually had a great time at this event mingling with celebrities like Christina Milian who showed up with her Mother Carmen Milian and baby Violet. Also in attendance was her sister Danielle Milian. I should’ve brought my Mother to this event instead of just bringing her makeup from sponsors like Young Blood Makeup and China Glaze Nail polish. I must tell you that I believe she loved it but I feel she would’ve enjoyed the day a little bit more if she could have been there to take advantage of the female beauty treatments. I must apologize to my Mom.
I did get something by attending this event. I received a complementary haircut from the Gavert Atelier Salon in Beverly Hills. My hairstylist, Josh Pena, did an amazing job with my new haircut! Prior to the event, I had a lot of hair and he was able to turn it into the cut of the event! Many people, including the young lady who invited me, Taylor Gamble from Live Loyal PR, loved it. Several friends who saw me before and after also were impressed. Josh said we should’ve taken before and after pictures and I actually agreed with him. I highly recommend Gavert Atelier if you are in Beverly Hills and need some hair magic!
I wanted to get a manicure but the wait was too long. When I finally got close enough to getting one, I had to fight the Beverly Hills housewife who snapped at me because she was next in line and she had been waiting forever. Darling, when you wait on the other side of the room your technically not in line but who am I to fight an old lady???? :-) I wasn’t going to wait so I moved on.
I did start chatting with Katie who works as an intern for the same PR company as Taylor. We talked about everything from her graduation from Cal State Fullerton, to boyfriends, and other things. I also ran into an old friend in Lindsey Haun, who you may know from the Disney Channel or from True Blood. I can never say enough good things about her because she’s just an amazing girl that brings so much to the table. She’s the girl that you just can’t take your eyes off of and because she is so down to earth you fall in love with her! Rex Lee was there as well and I like him more every time I run into him. He told me he was on a treasure hunt for the tokens at the sidekick party. When he finally got enough, they just told him to pick stuff. Damn! next time I’m going with Rex because I was dying for that Ed Hardy cap! I know sarcasm just doesn’t go over well in print!
This was a great event and I made my Mom happy as well as my neighbor, who I gave a little something to as well. It was a very successful event in my eyes and getting my haircut made it so much better! I wanted the Pirates cap and little miniature ship that they gave away at the “Pirates Of The Caribbean” premiere. Oh well, you win some you lose some!
