DWTS David Arquette Eliminated

I feel sorry for parents with teenage daughters who watch this show, because last night the Biebs was in the house.  And they hyped it up like crazy, as he was really the only “star power” they had last night.  The stars who are dancing are old news by now, especially on a night that they’re, you know, not actually dancing..

The team dances on Monday night shook up the leader board, most notably putting Hope in third place, two points above J.R..  Here’s where they stood after the team scores were added in:

1. Ricki and Derek - 53
2. Rob and Cheryl - 51
3. Hope and Maks - 50
4. J.R. and Karina - 48
5. David and Kym - 47
6. Nancy and Tristan - 44

Justin Bieber took the stage, and thirteen year old girls all across America lost their minds.  I have to admit that I haven’t seen him in a while, and he looked much less girly than I remember... but I still had to laugh at him trying to act.  Then he did that gliding Micheal Jackson style dancing, and I was very impressed.  I guess what I’m trying to say is that he baffled me, and not necessarily in a bad way.  I was surprised not to have laughed the whole way through.

Team Paso Doble got the encore dance, and then we went to results, with Tom informing us that they would tell us who the bottom two were this week.  Rob got a pass, but Nancy found herself in the bottom.  Of course.  They replayed part of her dance again, and to my eyes it looked even worse than the night before.

We got another inspiring story, this one about a dancer who was diagnosed with a brain tumor at fourteen, and had to relearn how to walk.  I wish the dance she did was more than just a series of lifts, but it was still beautiful.  The next dance eclipsed it, though, with an interesting dance from Derek and a girl I don’t know.  Whoever she was, I hope her earrings were clip-ons, because one of them went flying when Derek yanked his hand away from her face early on in the dance.

Ricki and J.R. were safe, and then Justin Bieber got reeeeeal smoooooth with Boyz II Men.  Yep, I was back to thinking it was just way too easy to laugh at him.  But anyway, Hope was safe next, so that put David in the bottom two with Nancy.  I wasn’t expecting David to be down in the bottom, but I’m not shocked either, given how the team dances effected the scores.

Who went home? David.

Wait, what?! Oh, the voters got this one wrong, and I still think the judges got it wrong on the team dances.  I’m really disappointed to see him go, leaving us without his excitable incoherence.  I’m even more disappointed that Nancy is staying in his place, and you could tell she and Tristan thought they were gone.  The reassuring hold Tristan had on her, and they way they both froze in disbelief when they said David showed that pretty clearly.

All I have to say is that she had better not turn into the next Bristol Palin.  She just can’t...  Can she?
