Ready to get exercised by folks who know the territory?  Then follow us as we check out the new to Blu-ray flick "Hellbenders 3D" out now from Lionsgate Home Entertainment.  The sins of the flick gets tallied and reviewed below!

   Title: "Hellbenders 3D"

   Grade: 2

Cast: Clifton Collins Jr., Clancy Brown, Dan Fogler

   Director: JT Petty

   Rating: R

   Runtime: 87 minutes

   Release Company: Lionsgate Home Entertainment

The Flick: "Hellbenders" is a flick with a ton of potential.  The story of sassy men of god who practice the sins they intend to stomp out is out of this world, the characters lead by a foul-mouthed Clancy “Kurgan” Brown are hilarious and there’s even some decent blood and gore scares to test the faith of the average movie horror hound.  Problem here is the tone is so heavily uneven that we’re not sure what kind of film Director JT Petty wanted to make.  Is it a comedy?  A grim reality on the sins of man?  Or perhaps just a clever take on the whole exorcism craze?  Trouble is there are so many great parts, but are scattered between moments that drag the flick to a screeching halt.  Good idea, great cast, tepid execution.  (Even in 3D!)

Best Feature: Even during the 'God’s Dirty Work Featurette' everyone seems to be on the same page as far as the ideas and Petty has good inspiration stories behind his writing – just needed more focus folks.

Best Hidden Gem: Even though he’s almost always the same still love the burly Dan Fogler playing a sex starved man of god here.

Worth the Moola: There is some gold god in these demon-ridden hills, but you really have to look and have faith.
