The Flick: The story and premise behind "Banshee Chapter" – secret government experiments and their effects – is a fascinating one for sure with some very disturbing images and scenarios.  But the down side here is that the film is shot almost all handheld doc or found footage style without any acknowledgement of it nor any reveals about the camera person.  It proves highly distracting and takes away from the engrossing story that frankly didn’t need a camera gimmick to be scary.  If you can take the shaky cam, there’s some horror gold here.  (Plus any film that has Ted “Buffalo Bill” Levine is a must see!)

Best Feature: A Making Of in four parts reveals some of the reasons behind the camera and visual choices – still distracting though.

Best Hidden Gem: Most annoying is the doc section on how they shot the film in a groundbreaking 3D format (where’s it at?!) – none to be found on this release though!

Worth the Moola: Interesting premise and story with unneeded visual decisions – scary all the way around!
