The Flick: As kind of a French Indiana Jones if the whip sporting dude was a boisterous woman, "The Extraordinary Adventures of Adele Blanc-Sec" is undeniably a fun ride.  As the sassy and sexy Adele, Louise Bourgoin makes a perfect leading lady and with filmmaker Luc Besson (who is known for hi memorable strong female characters) it’s a memorable match.  Plus Besson also adds a ton of fun and feisty side characters to lighten the load – from mummies that talk to creepy foils with bad teeth.  Only catch – the dubbing is so bad that it distracts from the flick.  Bite the ancient bullet and go the subtitle route!

Best Feature: The 'Making-Of' shows the history of the character from the books, plus everyone seems to be having a ton of fun.  (And in the work it shows!)

Best Hidden Gem: As arch nemesis Professor Dieuleveult, Mathieu Amalric turns in yet another amazing, layered and almost unrecognizable performance.

Worth the Moola: Fun adventure for the whole fam – just make sure everyone can read!
