Blu-ray Review: '6 Souls'
Ready to face the many faces – and personalities – of evil? Then check out our review of the new to DVD/Blu-ray chiller "6 Souls" out now from Anchor Bay Entertainment. All those inside get reviewed below.
Title: "6 Souls"
Cast: Julianne Moore, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Jeffrey DeMunn
Director: Marlind & Stein
Runtime: 112 minutes
Release Company: Anchor Bay Home Entertainment
The Flick: "6 Souls" is a recycled idea for sure. Start with a little Primal Fear and a pinch of Fallen and you’ve essentially got a Michael Cooney’s script. But that’s frankly only a small part of the problem within "6 Souls." The film goes on way too long, eventually becomes dull and predictable and ends in a way that even a blind man can see coming. Even the performances stretch the believability limit, with Moore playing over-wrought over the top, Meyers playing a hokey version of Edward Norton and Walking Dead alum Jeffrey DeMunn relegated to father role fluff. Mildly entertaining, "6 Souls" is great...for the genre uninitiated.
Best Feature: No features here – guess nobody wanted to own up on this one!
Best Hidden Gem: Joyce Feurring’s Granny Holler Witch did give me the willies!
Worth the Moola: Forget evil – horror familiarity has many faces film fans!
