3. "Accident" (Shout! Factory)
Shout! Factory continues to knock their 2012 releases out of the park with this little known Hong Kong import that takes creative killing to a whole new level. Quiet and creepy lead man Louis Koo is pitch perfect as the brain of a group who terminate subjects using techniques that make the event look like an accident. The fact that the film turns from a tale of act of god murders to moody obsession only ups the ante in terms of original filmmaking. Add to that a single Making-of featurette that mirrors the one-stop shop vibe mastered by Anchor Bay Entertainment and you’ve got a five-star release that’s no happy accident.
